The history of Stokota

The company was founded in Belgium in 1963 and began manufacturing underground fuel and heating oil tanks. It rapidly expanded, supplying high-quality welded storage tanks. In 1967, the company began producing road tankers, a market in which, over the years, Stokota quickly became a leading specialist in the Benelux region.

The 1990s were characterized by diversification into environmentally friendly vehicles (vacuum-loaded tankers and dual-purpose vehicles used for waste collection and industrial cleaning). Most of its production was destined for export.

Stokota growth was further enhanced by acquisitions and the creation of new branches. In 1996, the first Polish branch was established in Kielce. In 1998, EKW was acquired, and Stokota expanded its portfolio in the construction of specialty trailers. In 2000, the acquisition of CIME in Raismes, northern France, further expanded Stokota's geographical reach. In 2001, the Polish branch was expanded to include a second production plant in Elbląg.

The desire to streamline production and align the product portfolio with the company's history meant closing the Construction & Logistics department, which housed specialty trailers such as low-bed trailers.

Years of experience in road tanker construction and the award of a major contract for airport tankers for the military quickly led to the next logical step, creating a new department. In 2016, Stokota's latest and newest division was established. The Stokota Aviation Fueling Vehicles division focuses on aircraft refueling vehicles, hydrant dispensers, and multi-functional vehicles with ground support equipment such as discharge carts and refueling steps.
